Start your journey with a morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes as you head south toward the refreshing landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. This relaxing day trip offers a complete escape from the busy city and a chance to discover Morocco’s lush forests, alpine towns, and Berber culture.

Your first stop will be in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its clean streets, European-style architecture, and cool mountain climate. Take a walk through the town, see the famous stone lion statue, and enjoy the crisp alpine air.

The adventure continues toward Azrou, a Berber town surrounded by ancient cedar forests. Here, you’ll explore the majestic Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the friendly Barbary macaques. You can take photos, enjoy short nature walks, and experience the calm beauty of the Atlas Mountains.

You’ll also have time to explore traditional Berber villages and local handicraft cooperatives, where artisans work with wood, carpets, and handmade goods unique to this region.
