Tour Plan
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt
Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Fes. Travel through the scenic Middle Atlas, stopping in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue to Azrou to visit the cedar forest and meet the famous Barbary macaques. Admire panoramic mountain views before arriving in Midelt, where you’ll enjoy lunch and an overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga (Camel Ride & Desert Camp)
After breakfast, journey through the Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and traditional clay villages. Pass through Erfoud and Rissani, gateways to the Sahara. Upon reaching Merzouga, trade your vehicle for camels and ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to your desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, local Berber music, and a peaceful night under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert Excursion
Wake up to the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, set out to explore the Sahara region—visit Khamlia village for a lively Gnawa music performance, stop by local oases, and discover the culture of desert nomads. Return to the dunes for a relaxing afternoon, sunset camel ride, and another night immersed in desert tranquility.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Tinejdad – Todgha Gorge – Dades Valley
Depart Merzouga and journey through spectacular desert scenery toward Todgha Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive natural wonders. Walk between the towering cliffs and enjoy free time to explore. Continue through the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and lush greenery. Dinner and overnight stay in a charming local guesthouse.
Day 5: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through Kelaat M’Gouna, famous for its rose products. Continue to Skoura Oasis, home to beautiful palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Arrive in Ouarzazate, known for its film studios and cinematic history. Optional visit to the Atlas Film Studios or Cinema Museum. Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture and the setting for many famous films. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for photos and lunch along the way. Arrive in Marrakech by evening — marking the end of your 6-day desert and kasbah adventure.
