Tour Plan
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Pick-up from your hotel in Casablanca, then depart towards Rabat, the capital city, and explore the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and Kasbah of the Udayas. Continue to Volubilis, the ancient Roman ruins, before heading to Meknes to admire its imperial monuments, including Bab El Mansour, Madrassa Bou Inania, and Sehrij Swani. Arrive in Fes in the evening and overnight in a hotel or riad of your choice.
Day 2: Full-Day Guided Tour of Fes
Discover the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco in Fes, visiting the Royal Palace Gate, Karaouine Mosque and University, and the bustling medina with its local souks. See the Moulay Idriss II Tomb, Nejjarine Fountain, Harem Gardens, and Batha Museum. Enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant, and end the day watching the sunset over the historic city before returning to your accommodation.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga Dunes
After breakfast, journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco. Stop at the cedar forest in Azrou to meet monkeys and apes. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then drive through the scenic Tizi n’Talghamt Pass and the Ziz Gorges before reaching Erfoud, the land of dates and fossils. Optionally, visit a fossil workshop before arriving at the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Camel Trek & Nomad Camp
Start with breakfast, then enjoy a 4×4 excursion across the desert dunes. Visit a welcoming nomad family, and explore Khamlia Village, known for its Gnawa music. Stop at a desert oasis before returning to your hotel. In the late afternoon, ride camels across the dunes to a desert camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner under the stars and overnight in traditional Berber tents.
Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Nkob – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, depart Merzouga and pass through Rissani and the Tafilalt palm groves. Stop for lunch in Alnif, then continue through Tazarine, Nkob, and the scenic Draa Valley, exploring the anti-Atlas Mountains along the way. Arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” for dinner and overnight in your hotel.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After an early breakfast, visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for numerous international movies. Enjoy lunch locally before crossing the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, concluding your 6-day journey.
