Tour Plan
Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Your desert adventure begins with a morning departure from Fes. Travel through the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and scenic valleys. Stop in Azrou to meet the wild monkeys of the cedar forest before continuing to Midelt for lunch in a local restaurant.
Journey through the spectacular Ziz Valley, known for its volcanic rock formations and palm groves, before reaching Erfoud and Rissani — gateways to the Sahara. Arrive in Merzouga, where your camel caravan awaits. Ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and enjoy a mesmerizing sunset before settling into your Berber camp for dinner and an unforgettable night under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Erg Chebbi – Nomads – Khamlia
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the desert dunes. After breakfast, set out to explore the surrounding desert region — visit Tissardmine Oasis, known for its fossil fields, and meet local nomadic families who share stories of life in the Sahara.
Continue to Khamlia village, where you’ll experience the traditional Gnawa music performed by local musicians. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to relax before returning to your camp or hotel near the dunes for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todgha Gorge – Dades Valley
After breakfast, travel toward Rissani, an ancient town with a vibrant traditional market open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Explore its colorful souks and pick up unique local crafts before continuing to Erfoud, famous for fossilized marble and stone workshops.
Your next stop is the spectacular Todgha Gorge, with towering limestone cliffs and crystal-clear streams — a favorite destination for hikers and photographers. Enjoy lunch here before continuing to the scenic Dades Valley, known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. Dinner and overnight stay in a local riad or hotel.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, enjoy a short walk through the Dades Valley before continuing along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs toward the Roses Valley and Skoura palm groves. Stop in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” where many famous movies were filmed — optional visit to the Atlas Film Studios or Cinema Museum.
Next, explore Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Morocco’s most iconic ksar, featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech by evening. Drop-off at your hotel marks the end of your 4-day adventure.
