Tour Plan
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Your 3-day desert adventure begins with an early departure from Fes at 8:00 AM. The journey takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a first stop in Ifrane—known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its clean streets and alpine-style architecture.
Continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to playful Barbary apes, before heading to Midelt for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, travel through the scenic Ziz Valley and its volcanic gorges toward Erfoud, known for its fossils and dates. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll trade your car for camels and ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi at sunset—a magical moment as the sky turns shades of gold and pink.
Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional Berber desert camp, surrounded by the silence and beauty of the Sahara.
Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Todgha Gorge – Dades Valley
Wake early to witness a stunning sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at camp. Then, travel to Rissani to explore its vibrant souk (open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays), a great place to find local crafts and spices.
Continue to Erfoud to learn about fossilized marble production before driving through the dramatic Todgha Gorges—towering cliffs carved by the Todgha River. Enjoy free time to walk, take photos, or relax by the gorge.
Your day ends in the Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night in a charming guesthouse nestled among the red rock formations.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, continue your adventure through the Valley of Roses and the palm groves of Skoura along the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.”
Stop in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and visit its cinema studios where famous movies were filmed. Next, explore the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a magnificent fortress featured in many films and series such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
After lunch, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass before arriving in Marrakech in the evening, marking the end of your incredible desert journey.
