5-Day Tour from Fes to Explore Morocco

Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Fes toward the south of Morocco. Pass through Ifrane, the picturesque alpine town built by the French in the 1930s, and continue to Azrou to visit the cedar forest, home to friendly wild monkeys.
Enjoy lunch in Midelt, then admire panoramic views of the Ziz Valley before reaching Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara. Continue to the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga, where you’ll spend the night in a charming kasbah at the edge of the desert.

After breakfast, begin your desert exploration. Visit Khamlia village to experience traditional Gnawa music, explore desert oases, and meet nomadic families who preserve the region’s ancient way of life. Continue to Rissani, the former capital of the Alaouite dynasty, to explore its souks and historic kasbahs.
Later in the afternoon, return to Merzouga for a camel ride through the golden dunes at sunset. Spend the night in a Berber desert camp, enjoy a delicious traditional dinner, and relax around the campfire under a starlit sky.

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise. After breakfast, travel west toward Todgha Gorge, a natural wonder with towering limestone cliffs rising over 300 meters high. Enjoy free time to explore or take a short hike through the gorge.
Continue to the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, famous for its lush oases and red rock formations. Dinner and overnight stay in a cozy riad or hotel in the valley.

After breakfast, journey through the scenic Roses Valley, famous for its fragrant rose products and charming villages. Continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Optional visit to the Atlas Film Studios or Cinema Museum.
Head to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Morocco’s most iconic kasbah, featured in many films including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m altitude) before descending into the vibrant city of Marrakech.

Today is dedicated to discovering Marrakech, known as the “Red City.” Visit the lively Jemaa el-Fna Square, where storytellers, musicians, and performers bring Moroccan culture to life. Explore the Bahia Palace, Badii Palace, Saadian Tombs, and Koutoubia Mosque.
If time allows, visit the enchanting Majorelle Garden or stroll through the colorful souks filled with handicrafts, spices, and traditional goods. End your day with drop-off at your riad or hotel in Marrakech — marking the end of your 5-day Morocco adventure.
